Citizens Are Part Of The Country’s Economic Hardship; Not Only Politicians – SDA Pastor

Personal Ministries and Arms Director for Adventist Men’s Ministries, a ministry under the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah, has admonished Ghanaians not to sorely blame the government for the economic hardship the country is facing but partly blame themselves for being part of the problem they are going through.

Pastor Paul asserts that the difficulties that the nation and the world are currently experiencing are a confirmation of biblical prophecy regarding the end of the world. But because of their greedy quest for money, countrymen contribute to the hardship.

“According to the Bible, we will experience difficult times in the last days. Paul even predicted that the desire for money would make life in the world unpleasant. Because of selfish desires for money, the globe is currently experiencing harder times.”

He continued by saying that although people frequently blame the current administration for the nation’s bad economic state, in reality, most issues are brought on by the people themselves. He claimed that most business owners selfishly overprice their products in an effort to increase profits, disregarding the financial challenges that customers, including himself, face.

“Some even do that deliberately just to shame the government of the day”, he added.

Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah made this revelation last Saturday, November 5, 2022, during the Inauguration and Fundraising Ceremony of the Adventist Men Ministry, Northern Ghana Union Conference which took place in Kumasi at the State Boys’ School Park, Bantama.

However, he advised the government and politicians to be truthful in their work so that they won’t always be faulted by the citizens.

“Only a small percentage of politicians are truthful, as we are aware of their lifestyles and places of residence prior to their political appointments, but once they are appointed, they start leading extravagant lives, demonstrating that, in absent of theft, they are unable to amass wealth in such a short period of time. Due to this, the populace holds them responsible for any unfavourable developments the nation may encounter”, he said.

Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah used the opportunity to advise the youth to live a life that is worthy of emulation so that they can fulfil their God-giving mandate on earth. As a result, the church is planning to establish a youth group called ‘Young gents’ to educate the youth on how they can live chaste life and how they can help their communities.
