Citi FM Forces Odike To Retract Another Blunder Against Kumasi Traditional Rulers

Host of Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Umaru Sanda has compelled the founder and Flagbearer of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike to retract another blunder he made against traditional rulers during an interview.

The politician was reacting to the Kumasi traditional council and the chief of Adumakaasekese’s decision to ban him from his hometown over some utterances he made against the traditional rulers.

In Odike’s submission, he said “the traditional institutions do not understand democracy. They are still thinking in 17 Century. Their mindsets are like the 17 Century.”

The host immediately interrupted to point him to order.

“Are you sure this statement you are making now about they (Kumasi Traditional Council) being backwards will not land you, perhaps myself and my station in further trouble?… And for that matter I think it’s only fair that I disassociate myself from that comment”, the host said.

Odike responded, “Okay let me withdraw that”.

This comes after a similar blunder was uttered by Odike against traditional rulers in Kumasi during an interview on Oyerepa FM, a development that has landed the station in trouble.
