Cecilia Abena Dapaa Visits Victim In Intended Ritual Killing

The Caretaker Minister for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has visited the home of the eleven-year-old Girl in the alleged intended ritual killing.

The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for MoGCSP, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu, Chief Director for MoGCSP, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, Ga West MCE, Hon. Clement Wilkinson, Dr Comfort Asare, National Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Dr Anastasia Kpei Mawudoku, Greater Accra Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare.

The Ministry said the visit was to enable the Minister and her team to acquire first-hand information about the issue, assess the situation of the child and family and provide psychosocial support to the family.

Abena Dapaa reportedly pledged the Ministry’s preparedness towards providing psychosocial support to the girl and the family. Adding that the protection and survival of every Ghanaian are of great concern to the government during an interaction with the family of the girl whose father allegedly intended to kill her for money.

She also tasked the Greater Accra Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare to monitor the case and submit a situational report for the team’s attention.

They visited the family on Monday, June 6, 2022.
