Aduman: Two Remanded Into Prison Custody For Tricycle Robbery and Murder of Teenager

Two individuals have been remanded into prison custody after being charged for allegedly robbing a tricycle, murdering one victim and inflicting life-threatening injury on another at Aduman in the Ashanti Region.
They were arraigned on October 28, 2025, before the Kodie Magistrate Court on provisional charges of robbery and murder.
The accused persons have been identified as Sani Abacha, 28 years and Asante Eric, 23 years.
Robbery and Murder
Intending to rob the tricycle, which had been parked by its owner at his residence in the custody of his two housekeepers- both teenagers- on October 19, Sani lured them into a bush under the pretext of using it to transport firewood from his farm.
He is alleged to have attacked both victims with a cutlass, inflicting multiple wounds, before fleeing with the tricycle.
According to a police report, he later sought the help of Asante to hide the tricycle at the Aboabogya Cemetery and later sold it to Balawe.
One of the victims, identified as Kwabena Yankyra, 18, was found unconscious with deep cutlass wounds to his neck, bead, and ear the following morning by a resident in a cocoa farm near the Aduman Old Town Cemetery.
He was rushed to St. Patrick’s Hospital, Maase-Offinso, for treatment.
The police further stated that the body of Kwabena Boateng, 15, was also found nearby with similar injuries shortly.
“Police visited the scene, retrieved a cutlass believed to have been used in the attack, and conveyed the deceased’s body to St. Patrick’s Hospital for preservation and autopsy.”
Arrest
The two suspects were arrested after an intensive intelligence-led operation.
First was Sani on October 24th, 2025, at Asafo Tinkamu. He subsequently led police to arrest Asante at Aboabogya.
“Both suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime.”
Third suspect
Meanwhile, the police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the third suspect and recover the stolen tricycle.
The accused will reappear in court on November 25, 2025.
