Last Batch of Nominated Deputy Ministers Approved By Consensus
The Parliament of Ghana has approved the nominations of the last batch of Deputy Ministers by consensus after their vetting.
The House adopted the report of the Appointments Committee on the four Deputy Ministers-designate.
The four are Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey as Deputy Minister for Transport; Hon. James Gyakye Quayson as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs; Hon. Mohammed Adam Sukparu as Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations; and Hon. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah as Deputy Minister for Health.
Presenting the report of the Committee to the House, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, noted that the Committee reviewed relevant documents, invited public input, and held a public hearing on 25th July 2025, during which the nominees responded to questions on their qualifications, experience and vision for their respective Ministries.
“Following thorough scrutiny, the Committee found all nominees competent and suitable. It therefore recommends by consensus that the House approve the nomination of all four individuals for appointment as Deputy Ministers,” he stated.
It would be recalled that the nominations were officially referred to the Appointments Committee by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin on July 17, 2025.
