Ben Arthur: Teacher Unions Expected To Call Off Strike Today

The Chief Executive Officer of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, Mr. Ben Arthur says his outfit is expecting the four teacher Unions to call off their industrial strike actions as they have agreed to meet with Government key stakeholders on the negotiation table concerning their 20% Cost-Of-Living-Allowance demands.

According to him, his outfit and Government key stakeholders with the Teacher Unions are to meet on Tuesday, 12th July, 2022, at the negotiation table by 2pm.

Speaking to the Media, he emphasized that per the Labour Law, Teacher Unions are supposed to call off their strike actions before negotiation with his outfit, and Government key stakeholders can come off concerning their demands.

The Teacher Unions on Monday, July 4, 2022, declared an indefinite industrial strike over the Government’s failure to fulfill their 20% Cost-Of-Living-Allowance.
