Baworohene Fined 6 Rams Over Ntamkeseɛ

Nana Sarfo Agyemang, Baworohene, has been slapped with a fine of six rams for dishonestly invoking the Great Oath.

The traditional leader previously invoked the Great Oath to claim ownership of Baworo after being challenged by Oheneyere Poa Kwabi Agyemang, who maintained that the settlement is an Ahenyere town.

He claimed that the town belonged to him.

However, when his case was called before the Kumasi Traditional Council on August 6, 2026, he retracted his claims.

“I withdraw my statement. Asantehene graciously appointed me to ascend the stool and take care of the town, but it belongs to the royal wife.”

For improperly invoking the Great Oath, he was initially fined 48 rams, though the penalty was later reduced to six following appeals and the Asantehene’s intervention.
