AsanteheneAt76: Royal Dinner Caps Asantehene’s Thanksgiving Celebrations

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, hosted a royal dinner for invited guests at Manhyia Palace, climaxing the 27th enstoolment anniversary and 76th birthday.
Otumfuo dined with chiefs, clergy, dignitaries, and members of the royal household on May 10, 2026, following a thanksgiving service in the morning.
The centrepiece of the celebration was a symbolic three-tier anniversary cake, meticulously decorated in Asante’s traditional gold and black colours and adorned with the Asante crest and Adinkra symbols.

His Majesty, supported by Lady Julia, led a select group of dignitaries in the ceremonial cutting of the cake.
Guests with gifts were also afforded the opportunity to present them to the King.
The event was lightened with performances from Daughters of Glorious Jesus and the Lipstick Band.
His Majesty was joined by several traditional authorities, including Daasebre Osei Bonsu, Asante Mamponghene; Nana Otuo Siriboe II, Juabenhene; Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, Kumawuhene; Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama, Essumegyahene; and Dr Okofrobour Nana Yaw Agyei II, Mimhene.
Other dignitaries present included Ivorian Ambassador to Ghana Assiélou Félix Tanon, former Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Opare, former Minister Dr Addo Kufuor, Member of Parliament Samuel Jinapor, KNUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, government official Andy Okrah and businessman Ibrahim Mahama.
