Asantehene Embraces Burkinabe Business Tycoon

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has received Burkinabe business mogul, Mr Moussa Kouanda with open arms on his first visit to the Manhyia Palace.

The businessman, who is the President of the Kouanda Group, reached out to the Palace on March 15, 2024, in a desperate search for the fatherly figure in the King as well as his blessings.

The visit to the Palace is part of his itinerary for his visit to Ghana.

Leading him was the Chief of the Moosi Community in the Ashanti Region and caretaker of Zongo Stool, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul Rahman Adam III and his Chief Linguist, Mr Saed Walina Waziri.

Speaking through Mr Waziri as an interpreter, he expressed his immense gratitude to the King for the meeting and the warm welcome.

According to him, the popularity and reverence of the Monarch stirred his desire to request an in-person meeting with him to seek his embrace and blessings.

Delving into his background, he said he was born and bred in Koforidua, where his parents resided. He noted that his inner spirit bears witness that he is an Asante.

“I feel my soul is here with the Asante Kingdom and I am here to commit myself to God and into the hands of His Majesty and to seek his blessings if he will accept me,” he humbly said as interpreted by the linguist.

He further presented a document about himself to the Occupant of the Golden Stool.

His Majesty expressed his readiness to accept him as one of his own, noting that the Asante Kingdom was a hospitable place frequented by visitors.

“I am not surprised he said his soul abides here. Asante is welcoming and I embrace him as he comes. I hope to see him again.”
