Asantehene At 23: Former Prez Kuffuor Explains Otumfuo’s Debut Tittle ‘King Solomon’
Former President John Agyekum Kuffuor has explained Otumfuo’s title ‘King Solomon’ being conferred on him after his numerous wise counsels and solving uncountable conflicts across the country after ascending the Golden Stool to become the King of Asanteman twenty-three (23) years ago.
In an interview with Opemsuo Radio’s Nkwantananso Show, Otumfuo’s 23rd Anniversary Edition, the former President said, the story of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has a likeness to that of King Solomon as recorded in the Holy Bible.
He explained that, just as King Solomon was divinely chosen by God to serve the people of Israel after the exit of his father David, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was also chosen by God to serve the people of Asanteman and Ghana in general.
He insisted that, King Solomon’s unique and outstanding divine wisdom can also be seen in Otumfuo. He said, over the years, Otumfuo has exhibited unique wisdom in all his endeavours. For this reason, Otumfuo is recognized as ‘King Solomon’.
