10 Suspects Behind Fake Online Food Delivery Platforms Arrested

Ten suspects are in the grips of the police for allegedly operating fake online food delivery platforms, impersonating well-known food brands such as Papaye, Pizzaman, KFC, and Mawarko.
They were busted after sustained intelligence gathering, a police statement said.
They allegedly used fake websites and social media pages to lure victims to place orders, make advance payments via mobile money, after which they never received the food they ordered.
“Further investigations indicated that, in some cases, the suspects gained unauthorised access to victims’ mobile money wallets and bank accounts under the guise of assisting them with payments and subsequently withdrew funds,” a part of the statement said.
With a collaboration between the Ghana Police Service, through the Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), six of them were arrested on October 1, 2025, at Sogakope.
They were identified as Wonder Sakpiti, Sedinam Amaglo, Godsway Dunyo, Angela Agblemekpe, Mathew Aheto, and Fafali Amoah.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of the main suspect on October 12, 2025, and three others from their hideout at Haatso in Accra.
They were identified as Elijah Sotama Etse, alias Pop Smoke (the syndicate leader), Elliot Sotama Atsu, Jethro Atsu, and Obed Selasi Agboli.
Twelve mobile phones were retrieved from the suspects and are being preserved for forensic examination.
“All ten suspects are currently in police custody and will be put before the court today, Monday, 13th October 2025.”
The Ghana Police Service encouraged members of the public who may have fallen prey to this fraudulent scheme to report to the nearest police station to assist ongoing investigations.
