Amir Ghalenoei Voices Concerns Over Uncertainty Surrounding US Visas for Players and Staff of Iran

The most successful coach in the Iran Pro League and manager of the Iran national team, Ardeshir Ghalenoei, has voiced concerns regarding the possibility of all players and staff obtaining their US visas.

Amir Ghalenoei announced a preliminary squad of 30 players over the weekend, including 22 from Iranian clubs.
The Iranian international acknowledged that the squad is still lacking in match sharpness due to the suspension of the domestic league season since late February.
The National Team is currently camped in Turkey for pre-tournament camping, and Ghalenoei told the Iranian FA (FFIR) magazine that he was not completely satisfied with the players’ fitness levels.

On May 29, the Iranian national team will play a friendly game against Gambia. This will happen before Ghalenoei announces his final 26-person squad for the World Cup.
Ghalenoei stated, “We are still not certain that all players and staff members will receive their US visas; they must provide the necessary visa facilities for all teams that have qualified for the World Cup.”

“FIFA has made arrangements to ensure that the host countries provide the required cooperation with teams like Iran in this regard.”
