Akyem Subi: Palm Wine Tapper Found Dead by Roadside

The Akyem Subi community in the Eastern Region is in shock after the unexplained death of 45-year-old palm wine tapper, Kwasi Awokye.

His body was discovered early Saturday, April 19, 2025, along the roadside connecting Subi to Nkwantanang.

The incident has left residents in disbelief, as the deceased was a familiar face in the area, though he kept a low profile regarding his personal and family affairs.

There were no visible signs of trauma on the body at the scene, prompting suspicions that his death may be health-related rather than the result of foul play.

Police have since begun investigations to establish the cause of death and uncover the events leading up to his passing. The case has stirred unease in the community as authorities work to piece together what happened.
