Akufo-Addo Nominates Francis Fiakpui Hohoe MCE

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has nominated Francis Fiakpui for the position of Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) following the termination of the appointment of Daniel Noble Awumey.

This was communicated to the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Achibald Yao Letsa, by the Minister of State at the Ministry of Local Government and Decentralisation, O. B Amoah.

“H. E. the President in accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) has nominated the undermentioned person to the office of Municipal Chief Executive, pending approval by the Hohoe Municipal Assembly, FRANCIS FIAKPUI.”

“In view of the above, you are kindly requested to liaise with the Regional Electoral Commission to conduct the confirmation process of the nominated Chief Executive. I count on your usual cooperation,” the letter dated March 25 said.

His nomination comes a day after Hon Noble Awumey was sacked by the President.

A letter formally informing him about the revocation of his appointment directed him to hand over his duties to the Regional Minister who will exercise oversight responsibility of the Municipal Assembly until the confirmation of a new Municipal Chief Executive.

The Regional Minister will take charge of the oversight responsibility of the Municipal Assembly pending the confirmation of a new Municipal Chief Executive.
