Akufo-Addo: I’m Uncertain About Aisha Huang Deportation

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has admitted he doesn’t know what really happened with Aisha Huang, a Chinese national who was “deported” in 2017.

He said this during an interview with Stone City Radio on Monday during his tour in the Volta region.

He said, “I’M not still sure if she {Aisha Huang} was deported or whether she fled the country the first time and has now come back. But whatever there still seems to be some uncertainty about it.”

This is inspite of an assurance from the government’s Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Boakye Danquah, that there are documents to prove that she was deported in 2017.

While Speaking in an interview on Eyewitness News last week, Palgrave emphasised the President did not lie to Ghanaians in that regard.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said the “so-called deportation” of the galamsey queen did not follow the standard practice thereby generating a lot of questions about the deportation.
