Akufo-Addo: ‘I Haven’t Told Asiwaju Bola Tinubu To Give Peter Obi A Chance’

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has debunked a media report that he has advised Nigeria’s All People Party’s flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to give a chance to his contender from the other side, Peter Obi.

In a series of tweets, President Akufo-Addo said the “disturbing” news article is false.

“My attention has been drawn to a disturbing post making the rounds on social media, where it is alleged I have written to the 2023 presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to “give Peter Obi a chance and seek treatment for his health”

“This is completely false and mischievous, with no iota of truth whatsoever in it.”

According to Akufo-Addo, he has not written to the presidential candidate as stipulated in the article.

“I have written no such letter to the APC leader, and it will not occur to me to do so.”

Additionally, he said the bond between Ghana and Nigeria is too strong for him to mar it with his interference in their political affairs.

“Ghana and Nigeria boast of decades of cordial, strong, and brotherly relations, and I am not going to be the one to interfere in the internal affairs and politics of Nigeria”.
