Asantehene Set For A Trip

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to travel out of the country in the eighth month.
The Monarch announced this officially to the Asanteman Council on Monday, July 28, 2025, during a meeting.
His Majesty said the trip will be used for both official duties and a break.
“I won’t take long. I will be back before the end of the eighth month.”
Traditionally, the Asante Mamponghene, as the second in command, would act as caretaker of Asanteman in the Asantehene’s absence.
However, due to the vacancy of the Mampong stool, Otumfuo has delegated the responsibility to Opagyakotwere Bonsra Afriyie II, the Adansihene, and Nana Dwamena Akenten II, Offinsohene.
Meanwhile, Kumasi will be under the supervision of Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Bantamahene.
“I leave everything in your hands. Refrain from intimidation. You already know how things are done around here. Let’s maintain that for peace to prevail.”
Otumfuo directed all persons within the Asanteman Council with grievances to see Nana Adansihene and Nana Offinsohene, while those relating to the Kumasi Traditional Council to see Nana Bantamahene.
