16-year-old OKESS Student Arrested With Gun in Dormitory
Authorities of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) have handed over a male student to the Tafo Pankrono Divisional Police Command for illegal possession of a firearm.
The sixteen-year-old second-year student was found with a locally made gun on May 14 during routine inspection of dormitories by the school authorities.
Upon interrogation by authorities, the boy claimed that the firearm belonged to his stepfather, identified as Daniel Owusu Baafi.
The adult suspect was also arrested on the following day to assist with investigations into the matter.
The two suspects were eventually granted police inquiry bail to report to the police station on May 19, 2025.
It comes weeks after a student of Adventist Senior High School (ADASS) fired a gun at the school, injuring two in the process.
