Fire Razes Down Korle Bu Medical School Laboratory
The Medical laboratory building of the Korle Bu Medical School has been razed down by fire.
The fire which started on Tuesday night affected the Accounts Office, Stores, Administration, and Archives of the Laboratory buildings.
It took the collective intervention of the firefighters from the Regional Headquarters Substation, Accra City, National Headquarters Substation and Ministries Fire Stations to douse the flames.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the fire was brought under control at 0043 hours and fully extinguished at 0410 hours with zero recorded injuries.
“Thanks to the swift response, nearby facilities such as the Allied Sciences Building, Diabetic Centre, and Stores Annex were successfully protected from the blaze,” the Service reported in a statement issued on Wednesday morning.
It added that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
