Focus on Hard Work, No Government can Put Money in your Pocket – Ghanaians told

The Bantama District Pastor of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Oppong Acheampong, has advised Ghanaians to focus on hard work to enrich themselves rather than looking up to the government.

According to the man of God, no government can directly put money in one’s pocket. He emphasized that the only way for individuals to achieve financial stability and independence is through hard work.

“If you don’t work hard, no government will come and put money in your pocket. So I am advising the youth not to be highly dependent on the government but with hard work and commitment, they can make a decent earning”.

He stated that the current state of the country’s economy is poor, leading the government to seek support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). However, he urged Ghanaians to manage their expectations as the first installment of the IMF bailout arrives in the country’s coffers.

“People are happy that the IMF money has hit the nation’s coffers and they are very hopeful that things are going to turn around soon. But in all this I can tell you that if you, the individual do not work hard, there is no way you can benefit from the IMF support”, he emphasised.

Speaking to the press on his 60th birthday celebration, he siezed the opportunity to encourage the youth to utilize their earnings wisely to create a dignified future for themselves and their families.

He also advised young pastors to exercise restraint and avoid rushing in their ministry. Instead, he encouraged them to wait upon the Lord through fasting and prayer. He urged them not to be envious of others but to be content with whatever blessings the Lord has bestowed upon them.
