Kumasi Female Prison Exhibits Inmates’ Artworks to Promote Rehabilitation

The Kumasi Female Prison has exhibited artworks crafted by inmates as part of efforts to showcase their creative talents and promote rehabilitation under the Ghana Prisons Service’s Think Prisons 360° initiative.
The exhibition, organised with the support of the Director-General of Prisons, provided inmates with a platform to display their artistic abilities and demonstrate the skills acquired through rehabilitation programmes.
The artworks exhibited included mosaic, collage and batik, highlighting the creativity, commitment and potential of the inmates.
According to the Ghana Prisons Service, the initiative forms part of efforts to promote rehabilitation and skills development, create public awareness of the positive transformation taking place among inmates and equip them with productive skills for successful reintegration into society.
The quality and creativity of the artworks demonstrated that, when provided with the necessary support and opportunities, inmates can develop valuable skills, build confidence and contribute positively to society.
The exhibition reflects the Service’s commitment to rehabilitation, skills development and the transformation of inmates, in line with the Think Prisons 360° agenda of building a modern, progressive and people-centred correctional service.
