We Want Anglicans To Be Self-Reliant-Anglican Church

The Anglican Church of Ghana has noted it is bent on making its congregants self-reliant by creating employment for the youth.

The church said it has registered a business unit with the aim of transacting various forms of businesses in the country.

During a courtesy call on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, at Manhyia Palace, an eight-member delegation of Bishops revealed plans are underway to establish an insurance company in 2022.

It was indicated that the need for such initiatives was realized during the initial outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

“We have registered a business unit called Anglican Investment Company Limited, we can now transact businesses and earn profits and create employment for our youth so that we are able to sustain the youth in the church.

“The pandemic has taught us to be proactive. By the first quarter of 2022, the Anglican Church is going to launch an insurance brokerage company called Spirit Insurance Brokerage Company Limited which has been registered. Accra will be the head office and there will be offices across the country”, Executive Director for the Anglican communion of the Internal Province of Ghana, Bishop George explained.

He further said, “we want all Anglicans to be self-reliant. As such we will launch a policy for all Anglicans to pay an amount of GHc2 monthly on November 7. We have established a fund named Anglican Development Fund. The monies accrued will be used to run scholarship programs and other projects.”
