V/R: Man Jailed 4 Years for Stealing Church Musical Instruments

A 27-year-old man, Mohammed Rafiu, has been convicted and jailed for breaking into Faith International Ministry Church and stealing musical equipment in Hohoe.

The Police Command said Rafiu was spotted on June 5, 2026, near the church carrying a sack containing various items as he rushed to hail a car.

Suspicious witnesses approached him and inspected the sack.

Police found one amplifier, one equaliser, one mixer, and a crossover machine, all belonging to the church.

Rafiu was arrested and taken to the Hohoe Police District, where he admitted to the charges levelled against him.

On Monday, June 8, 2026, he appeared before the Hohoe Circuit Court, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful entry and stealing.

He was convicted and sentenced to 3 years for unlawful entry and 4 years for stealing.

The sentences will run concurrently, meaning he will serve 4 years total.

The Police Command has urged the public to report suspected criminal activities to the police for immediate action.
