Tourism Minister Commends Asantehene Art Awards as National Statement on Culture

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has praised the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Art Awards as a national statement on the value of culture and the creative sector.
Speaking at the 2026 edition of the awards at Manhyia Palace on May 13, she described the initiative as an investment in Ghana’s national identity.
“Permit me to express my deepest appreciation for this noble initiative. The Asantehene Art Awards is a national statement that culture and arts matter. We matter. It is an enduring investment in the soul of our nation,” she said.
Hon. Gomashie also extended her goodwill to the Asantehene, noting the broader significance of his leadership for the country.
“May your reign continue to bring peace, wisdom, unity and progress to Asanteman and to Ghana,” she added.
The Asantehene Art Awards recognise excellence in all forms of arts, forming part of ongoing efforts to preserve and promote Ghana’s cultural heritage.
