To Say I’m proud of You is an Understatement- Lady Julia to Otumfuo

The wife of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Lady Julia has expressed her ineffable admiration towards her life partner.

According to her, saying she is proud of the achievements and legacy of the 16th Occupant of the Golden Stool would be amiss on her part and an unpardonable understatement.

“Otumfuo’s reign has been characterised by his remarkable achievements in peace-making, nation-building, development, education, health and building bridges between the international communities, Asanteman and Ghana as a whole. My dearest, I congratulate you on all your exemplary achievements. To say I’m proud of you would be an understatement,” she said at the dinner party marking the King’s 74th birthday,

Her Royal Highness, before the guests, reaffirmed and renewed her vows to stand by him and further desired the blessings of God for her husband.

“Otumfuo, My Love, I promise to continue to be your backbone, to stand with you in good times and in difficult times. I reaffirm the vow that I made to you when we first married: that I will be your peace and your sanctuary and I promise that the next 25 years will be filled with the goodness and love we shared thus far.”

Otumfuo turned 74 on Monday, May 6, 2024. He marked this with a Thanksgiving Service in the morning and dinner party later in the day at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall at the Manhyia Palace.

Present at the lively event were the Asantehene and his wife, Lady Julia, Asanteman, Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Teiku Tsuru II, Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Akosua Frema Osei Opare, former Chief Justice, Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah, Sir Sam Jonah and many others.

The event witnessed performances from Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, Touareg Band, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, Pat Thomas and Amakye Dede.
