Opemsuo Radio Suspends Regular Broadcast Schedule for Nana Konadu Yiadom III Burial Rites

Opemsuo Radio, a subsidiary of the Ashanti Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), has suspended its routine daily broadcast programming outline ahead of the burial rites of the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

This takes effect on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

“This decision is in honour of the solemn occasion and as a mark of our deepest respect for the memory of the Asantehemaa,” management said in a statement.

All programming will now focus on the upcoming event, highlight the legacy of the Queen, and reflect the sombre tone of the mourning period.

Normal programming will resume after the burial rites, it said.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and humbly count on your understanding and cooperation.”
