S/R: Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Curfew Hours Slashed
The Minister for Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, by Executive Instrument, has reduced the curfew hours of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba in the Savannah Region to eight hours.
The town will be under curfew from today, Tuesday, September 09, 2025, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
In a press statement, the Ministry urged Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
It, however, reaffirmed the total ban on carrying firearms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons; ban on pillion riding during the day; and ban on war regalia outfits.
It warned, “Any person found with any firearms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.”
