Dumsor Hits Kumasi and Tarkwa after Aboadze–Tarkwa Transmission Line Damage

Power supply disruptions have affected parts of the Ashanti Region and the Western Region following damage to the Ghana Grid Company Ltd’s (GRIDCo) 161kV Aboadze–Tarkwa transmission line.
In a statement, the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition said the situation had affected residents of Kumasi and Tarkwa.
It announced that a maintenance team is currently at the location, working diligently to repair the line as quickly as possible.
“We wish to assure the general public that every effort is being made to repair the damage and normalise the situation,” the statement issued by Richmond Rockson, the spokesperson and Head of Communication at the Ministry indicated.
The Ministry also apologised for the inconvenience and assured the public of its commitment to restoring full service as soon as possible.
