Tema: Gun Battle Between Police and Robbery Gang Leaves 3 Dead
Three members of a suspected armed robbery gang have lost their lives after they reportedly engaged police in a gun battle.
The gang, numbering about ten, broke into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area on July 21, 2025, a police statement reported.
“The police patrol team that responded to the call confronted the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Three of the suspects were shot in the process and have been pronounced dead.”
Meanwhile, the remaining suspects, some of whom are believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, managed to escape, it added.
The police retrieved a Bruni mod foreign pistol; a double-barrelled locally manufactured pistol with 2 rounds of ammunition; and 11 live BB ammunition from the scene while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for identification, preservation and autopsy.
The police statement noted that investigations are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.
“We would like to commend officers of the Kpone District Command for the timely response.”
