E/R: Two Arrested For Plot to Assassinate Chief

Two are in police grips for plotting to eliminate a traditional authority at Akyem Kwabeng in the Eastern Region.

A police statement said suspects Emelia Akua Asor and Butuakwa Seth offered GHC 50,000.00 to undercover police officers to kill the Chief and another woman, alleged to be next in succession line for installation as Queen Mother.

“She further instructed suspect Butuakwa Seth to assist in identifying the residences of the intended victims, promising an additional GHC 50,000.00 upon completion of the crime.

Both suspects are currently in police custody, assisting investigations and will be put before the court.

It added, “The Eastern South Regional Police Command assures the public that it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents, especially traditional leaders in the region.”
