AQ3 Centre Fit for Our Event – Retro Vibes Day Club Organisers Defend Venue Choice

The organisers of the Retro Vibes Day Club have affirmed that the AQ3 Centre remains the best venue to host their events.

Speaking in an interview on Oseikrom Kwanso with Mr Black on Opemsuo Radio yesterday, they addressed calls for a change of venue, explaining that the selection is influenced not only by size but also by aesthetics.

“We’ve heard our patrons complaining that AQ3 is small for Retro Vibes and that the place is far and all. What I want to say is that when it comes to venue selection for such a programme, it’s not only about size; aesthetics also counts,” they said.

They also cited the strategic location of the AQ3 Centre as a key reason.

“If the event centre is close to the main road, there will be traffic congestion, which won’t be favourable to attendees. Aside from AQ3 being aesthetically pleasing, there is also a hospital, a fueling station and hotels around just in case,” they stated.

They added, “We have visited different event centres suggested to us by our patrons; after further assessment, it still came back that AQ3 is the best venue for what we have.”

Meanwhile, the organisers promised patrons a better experience at the upcoming edition, saying measures have been put in place to address lapses from the previous event.

“Unlike what happened at the Asanteman edition in July, the Sugar Edition will be different because there are structures in place to make patrons comfortable. We urge our patrons to buy the early bird tickets online on time and expect to have a good experience on November 1, 2026,” they assured.

This follows concerns raised about overcrowding during the Asanteman edition in Kumasi in July, which left many patrons struggling to enter the venue despite having tickets, prompting calls for a more spacious venue.
