W/R: Communal Effort Leads to Arrest of Suspected Armed Robber
A robbery suspect is in police custody after he attempted to take away a phone and some money from his victim at gunpoint at Wassa Nkran.
Identified as Enoch Asimiga, a police statement reports that he attacked his victim with a locally manufactured pistol and fled into a nearby cocoa farm afterwards.
He was, however, nabbed minutes later, after the victim raised an alarm, prompting a swift community response.
A search conducted on the suspect led to the retrieval of one (1) BB live cartridge, one (1) locally manufactured pistol and a Samsung mobile phone.
Enoch was handed over to the police.
“The suspect is currently in Police custody assisting ongoing investigations and will be put before the court.”
