Ghana Post Resumes Deliveries to US

The Ghana Post has resumed deliveries to the United States of America (USA).
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
“We are pleased to announce that we have resumed limited acceptance and dispatches to the USA.”
It noted that mail services to the USA are available at the GPO, Accra North, Kaneshie, Tema Comm 1, K.I.A. (Airport), Madina, Kumasi Main (Adum), Sunyani, Tamale and Bolgatanga.
Wa Market Circle, Cape Coast Main, Koforidua and Aflao are other designated points in Ghana.
It may be recalled that the Ghana Post announced a suspension of deliveries to the United States of America from August 26, 2025.
This affected the acceptance and dispatch of all mail to the USA, including letters, parcels, and EMS.
In a notice, it explained that the decision follows a recent U.S. Executive Order that imposed import duties on packages to the U.S.A.
The order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump ended the global import tax exemption on low-value parcels, effective August 29.
While gifts valued under $100 will remain duty-free, all other packages will now be subject to the same tariff rates as other goods from their country of origin.
Postal services, including Royal Mail and Germany’s DHL, said they would suspend deliveries until they had proper systems in place to deal with the new rules.
