A/R: Fire Breaks Out in a 22-Room Building At Ashtown

Fire has broken out at a 22-room building at Ashtown in Kumasi, totally consuming 12 rooms and their contents.

The multi-storey building with House Number KO65, near the Health Insurance Office caught fire on Monday morning.

According to a statement by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) fire officers from Manhyia and KNUST Fire Stations responded to the scene and salvaged 10 rooms through their efforts.

“The fire was brought under control by 0835 hours and fully extinguished by 1014 hours, salvaging 10 bedrooms.”

It added that there were no casualties or injuries while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
