Seven Arrested in Kasoa Over Poor Sanitation Practices

A sanitation enforcement operation in Kasoa has led to the arrest of seven individuals for breaching hygiene regulations within the Awutu Senya East Municipality.
The suspects are expected to be hauled before the court to answer for their actions.
This announcement was made by Municipal Chief Executive Seth Sabba Banini Serwornu during a stakeholder meeting focused on finding practical solutions to the area’s worsening sanitation problems.
The dialogue brought together key players aiming to push a more aggressive agenda toward cleanliness in the municipality.
Addressing the gathering, the MCE issued a stern warning to residents, particularly market traders and commuters, to stop dumping waste indiscriminately.
He revealed that the Assembly would be ramping up its efforts through a fully deployed sanitation taskforce.
According to him, the era of leniency was over: individuals who disrespect public spaces by littering would be made to face legal consequences without exception.
Backing this renewed campaign, Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryo, threw her support behind the initiative.
She announced plans to work closely with the Assembly to acquire a permanent refuse disposal site to handle waste from Kasoa’s bustling markets.
Also speaking at the event, ASP Emmanuel Amponsah, who heads the police unit responsible for the Kasoa Central Business District, pledged law enforcement’s full cooperation in the drive to restore cleanliness and uphold sanitation regulations along the municipality’s main commercial streets.
