C/R: Vulcanizer Explosion Leaves Man Fighting for His Life
A regular day took a horrifying turn in the New Nkusukum area of the Central Region when a vulcanizer machine unexpectedly exploded, leaving three people badly injured.
The incident happened near Volta Bar, within the Mfantseman Municipality, and has since thrown the community into shock.
One of the victims, a man identified as Richard, believed to be in his 30s, is in a critical state.
Witnesses say he suffered devastating injuries, with parts of his abdomen exposed due to the force of the explosion. Two other men are also nursing serious wounds, including broken legs.
The injured individuals were swiftly transported to the Roman Hospital in Mankessim, where they’re currently receiving medical care.
According to eyewitness Isaac Opoku in a report by Adom Online , some workers were offloading items nearby when a sudden blast shook the area. People rushed toward the sound and found the victims sprawled on the ground in pain.
It is believed the accident occurred while a tyre was being inflated using the vulcanizer machine, which blew up under still-unclear conditions. Investigations are expected to be launched to determine what led to the mechanical failure.
