Roads Minister To Transform Tollbooths Into Lavatory

The Roads and Highways Minister, Kwasi Amoako Atta has noted that tollbooths will not be left to rot nor will they be left as death traps along various roads in Ghana.

According to him, the toll booths will soon be refurbished into proper and decent lavatories across the country.

This comes on the back of reports that toll booths are contributing to numerous road accidents.

“We want to refurbish all tollbooth structures to provide proper and decent Washrooms for use by motorists to avoid situations where motorists stop to ease themselves indiscriminately”, he said while addressing the media yesterday.

The cessation of toll collection on all public roads was announced by the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, during the presentation of the 2022 budget. The announcement was followed by an immediate directive from Amoako Atta to suspend the collection.
