Police Nab 5 Suspects In Akyem Adukrom Robbery
The Police in the Ashanti Region have rounded up five suspects in the robbery of a gold dealer at Akyem Adukrom.
The police say the suspects took away some nuggets of gold at gunpoint.
The five were arrested through an intelligence-led operation on the Accra-Kumasi Highway according to the police.
The five are Adams Awal, Ibrahim Hamidou, Inusah Moro, Nasiru Salifu and Kwadwo Amponsah.
Among the weapons the police retrieved from the suspects were an AK-47 assault rifle, two magazines loaded with twenty-four rounds of ammunition, a python revolver pistol, eight BB live cartridges, and nine gold nuggets.
They also retrieved an amount of nine thousand and seventy-seven cedis and a Toyota Land cruiser with trade plate number DV 4142 F.
