Police Arrest Two Men with Pump-Action Gun, Over 11,000 Rounds of Ammunition

The police have arrested two men for unlawful possession of a firearm and large quantities of ammunition following an intelligence-led operation.
The suspects, Richard Kpimbi, 27, and Latif Adam, 20, were arrested on Tuesday, April 29, 2026, at the Brewaniase Police barrier.
Their arrest followed the interception of a Kia Rhino truck with registration number GW 9927-13, driven by Kpimbi with Adam as the driver’s mate.
A thorough search of the vehicle uncovered one Adler pump-action gun, 7,000 AAA cartridges, 3,000 BB cartridges, and 1,124 live rounds of AK-47 ammunition.
A police statement said the ammunition and firearm were concealed in plastic sacks and boxes under tarpaulins.
The two suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations, while all exhibits retrieved have been retained for further action.
The Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring public safety and urged the public to volunteer credible information to support efforts in combating crime.
