Parliament’s Security Committee Meets UNDP Team to Advance National Threat Prevention Strategy

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Security and Intelligence has met with a United Nations Development Programme Joint Mission Team to advance the national threat prevention strategy.
The UNDP delegation included officials from the Crisis Bureau and the Regional Bureau for Africa.
According to a report by Parliament, the meeting had three main objectives: first, to deliberate on the prevailing security and political situation in the sub-region and Ghana, and to assess how these conditions affect efforts in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, the protection of human rights, and the administration of justice.
The second objective was to ensure a coordinated and complementary approach to implementing these measures at the community level.
Finally, the meeting sought to formulate recommendations that will guide the development of a National Prevention Strategy for Ghana.
