You Don’t Embark on a Journey Taking You Nowhere- Ofosu Asamoah on Defection

Ofosu Asamoah has justified his defection to the camp of flagbearer hopeful Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The former campaign Manager of aspirant Kwabena Agyei Agyepong said the decision followed a reflection on the “hopeless” journey he had taken.
“In life, you don’t embark on a journey that takes you nowhere. You must know your destination whenever you set out on a journey and be sure that you will get there,” he said at a campaign trail with the former Vice President.
“You don’t take a journey to an uncertain destination. After a careful reflection, as a campaign manager, I realised there is no hope there, and so I had to withdraw and find a new camp.”
He is optimistic that Dr Bawumia will be victorious in the upcoming Presidential Primaries and subsequently in the national election with his assistance.
“Life is difficult, but we have never failed, so if I have come to join Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign, then be sure that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is our next presidential candidate and the possible president.”
Contesting for the party’s flagbearer position are Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Assin Central MP; Dr Bryan Acheampong, former Food and Agriculture Minister; Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President; Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Education Minister; and former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
The election is set for January 31, 2026.
