Okraku-Mantey Cuts Sod For Construction Of Amphitheater

The Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Mark Okraku-Mantey, has cut sod for the construction of Amphitheater at the Kumasi Cultural Center.

Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony, Mr Mantey stated that the Amphitheater will help revamp the Creative Arts industry which will in turn improve revenue generation for the nation to boost the economy in the end.

He indicated the project is to be completed in three months.

“As part of the government’s ambition to revamp the Creative Arts Industry, we passed the Creative Arts Bill into Law. We are on course and building the Creative Arts School at Kwadaso to help train people and develop and sharpen their creativity,” he added.

According to the Minister, Kumasi is not the only city to benefit from this project but other four cities such as Accra, Tamale, Takoradi and Tema

In an interview with Opemsuo reporter, the Mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Hon Samuel Pyne, expressed his gratitude to President Akufo Addo and the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture for finally cutting sod for the construction of the Amphitheater as they promised.

He added that the authorities of KMA will supervise the project until its completion which is expected in three months.
