NYA To Launch “National Youth Volunteer Program”
The National Youth Authority (NYA) has hinted at launching a National Youth Volunteer Program which seeks to highlight volunteerism on the side of the youth.
According to the CEO for the NYA, Mr. Pius Enam Hadzidze the project involves the recruitment of over 100 youths who will be deployed to parts of the nation to offer training on volunteerism.
“Volunteerism is vanishing in the country, nowadays people seek for payment for the service they render”.
At the Manhyia Palace, Mr. Hadzidze expressed interest in gaining Otumfuo’s patronage so that his influence will get the Youth Volunteer Jobs will be high.
“So we want to leverage your influence in launching this National Youth Volunteer Program, we want to launch it at your premises to gain your blessings”
He added that the Bank of Ghana’s participation has also been gained.
His Royal Majesty observed that it is the responsibility of the NYA to cater for all categories of persons in the country including the deserted and those engaged in social vices.
“It is your duty to include drunkards amongst others in your Houston authority plans because the drunkard could have taken a different path if he had the support earlier.”
“During the ancient days, someone’s child was another’s, where one could take another’s to school but now when one’s family fail to do so then that is the end.it makes the youth end up in all manner of unacceptable lifestyle”
“Now, we fail to extend care to the extended families, it’s all about a father, his wife, and children, copying blindly from the white.
“Such acts have seen an increase in indiscipline.”
He said indiscipline and civil education have been on the low recently and that it must be prioritized by the NYA to focus on these areas.
