Mahama Sets Up National Education Forum Planning Committee

President John Dramani Mahama has constituted an eight-member Committee to plan a National Education Forum.

The team chaired by former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor George K. T. Oduro is made up of Professor Goski Alabi, Professor Rosemary Bosu, Samuel Awuku, PhD, Professor Smile Dzisi, Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu and Inusah Shiraz.

This is in fulfilment of his pledge to the people of Ghana.

The Committee’s Terms of Reference (TOR) include developing a theme and sub-themes to guide the stakeholder engagement; identifying key stakeholders in the education sector; developing a stakeholder activity agenda with time allocations; and proposing a venue and date(s) for the forum.

They are also to set up a secretariat to document activities; provide a budget for the National Education Forum; develop a comprehensive report detailing the findings and recommendations of the Forum; draft a national education policy framework and propose an action plan for implementing recommendations within three weeks after the Forum; and consider any other issue relevant to the organisation of the Forum.
