Ningo Prampram To “Stop” Prez Convoy Over Abandoned Projects

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Constituency, Sam George has threatened to “stop” the convoy of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in protest to abandoned infrastructural projects in the constituency.

He said he is willing to organize his constituents for this purpose if it would make a difference after several attempts to get the Afienya-Dawhenya road and the dilapidated bridge fixed failed.

“He is paid with our taxes and cannot be above us demanding the basic dignities. After all, don’t they stop their convoys unplanned during campaign seasons to speak to communities?”

According to him, it wouldn’t be the first time he has taken such an action against a sitting President.

In a social media post he recalled that “as Parliamentary candidate, in October 2016, I stopped then President Mahama’s convoy to demand action on that road. 3 weeks later, a contractor was put on the road only for us the NDC to lose power a month later.”

Speaking to the press earlier this week, the legislator said he would mobilize constituents to implement the plan whenever the President is scheduled for a trip to Eastern or the Volta Region.

“Maybe I need to organize my people, let me serve notice. Mr President, the next time you are going to Akosombo, I will block you at Afienya. Or the next time you are going to the Volta Region, I will block you at Dowuenya and let you walk on this road to see.”
