The Asawase Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mugis Mahadi, has confidently stated that the party knows how to win the 2024 elections.
Speaking on Nkwantannanso on May 15, the Secretary expressed the party’s expectation of a higher turnout for the NDC in the upcoming elections.
While he did not reveal the specifics of how they plan to win, he stated that the NDC will emerge victorious.
“We know how to win the elections but I can’t tell you our plans on air,” he said.
Responding to rumours that the people of Asawase no longer want Hon. Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka as their Member of Parliament, the Secretary said that it does not matter because he has already won the primaries.
He emphasised that what is important now is for the NDC to win the 2024 elections.
When asked if the NDC Asawase branch will work with Hon. Mutaka’s contender, Masawudu Mubarick, explained that the focus is on winning, and they need all the help they can get.
“Even if the opposing party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), wants to help us win, we will allow them,” he added.
The Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, has won the primaries to represent the party in the 2024 elections.
The election, which took place on Saturday, May 13, was a hotly contested race between Muntaka and his main contender, Masawudu Mubarick. In the end, Muntaka emerged victorious with 1,063 votes, while Mubarick trailed with 735 votes.
