ECG Warns Public Against Patronising Private Electrician Services

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has cautioned the public against contracting private electricians to render services within its network.

It observes that such electricians illegally climb ECG Poles, fuse ECG transformers with substandard fuses and transfer customers from one phase to another.

According to the Company, such activities are illegal.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana has noted with grave concern the illegal operations within ECG network by some private electricians.”

It said such activities often lead to outages, low voltage, power fluctuations and damaged transformers.

“Customers are being advised to desist from engaging private electricians anytime they experience an outage.”
