Mahama Outlines Ghana’s Vision for Africa’s Economic Future at The Africa Debate in London

President John Dramani Mahama has called for deeper economic cooperation, sustainable investment, and long-term value creation across Africa as he outlined Ghana’s vision for the continent’s growth.

At The Africa Debate held at the Guildhall in London, the President addressed global business leaders, policymakers, and investors.

He highlighted Africa’s rising influence in the global economy and stressed the need for strategic partnerships that drive industrialisation, innovation, and shared prosperity.

President Mahama reaffirmed Ghana’s readiness to work with international partners to unlock opportunities, strengthen economic resilience, and drive inclusive growth.

He said Africa must be positioned not just as a consumer market, but as a key contributor to the future of global development.

“The continent’s growing influence demands partnerships that go beyond aid and focus on investment, technology transfer, and building industries that create jobs and retain value here in Africa,” he noted.

The President’s remarks at the high-level forum come as Ghana pushes to attract sustainable investment under its economic transformation agenda, leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area to expand trade and manufacturing across the region.
