Mahama Confirms Three GIS Deputy Comptrollers-General to Substantive Ranks

President John Dramani Mahama has approved the confirmation of three acting Deputy Comptrollers-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, elevating them to their substantive ranks with immediate effect.

The appointments were made on the recommendation of the GIS Governing Council and with the advice of the Public Services Commission, in recognition of the officers’ proven leadership and strong commitment to duty.

Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration Evelyn Lolonyo Lostu has been confirmed to lead the Finance and Administration Directorate, while Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration Faisal Disu will head the Command Post and Operations Directorate.

Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration Philip Peter Andoh has also been confirmed to oversee the Legal, Research and Monitoring Directorate.

Comptroller General of Immigration Samuel Basintale Amadu warmly congratulated the newly appointed deputies.

He lauded their professionalism and commitment and expressed confidence that in their substantive roles they will continue to strengthen the Service, promote good governance, and advance the nation’s security and development.

The Comptroller General also pledged the full support of management as they assume their new responsibilities.

The confirmations are expected to provide stability in GIS leadership as the Service pushes ahead with reforms in border security, migration management, and institutional efficiency.
