Kwabena Duffuor Picks Nomination Forms

A former Finance Minister, Kwabena Duffuor, has picked nomination forms at the National headquarters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Kwabena Duffour declared his presidential bid in 2021, however, it was officially announced in November 2022.

At a press conference in November he said, “Today Ghana our house is on fire and as a citizen, I have the responsibility to quench this fire. That’s why I’m here this afternoon. Our economy is in shambles. The youth are unemployed and they are very desperate. Ghanaians everywhere are going through very difficult times. We are lacking the most basic necessities of life.

“Indeed this is not what our founding fathers envisaged for us. This is not where a country like Ghana with tremendous blessings and resources should find herself. My colleagues, we are in difficulty, we are in danger and I want to inform you that the time for change is now.”

The form was picked on his behalf on February 23, 2023- a day after nomination for Presidential aspirants opened for the NDC- by Gloria Huze, the NDC Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser.

Reports indicate that Gloria Huze paid for the form.
